Mapping our clients’ complex unconscious social maps.

Why is helping to resolve some of our clients’ social issues so challenging? Foremost when several actors, generations, loyalties, loved ones, hated others and introjections are colliding in their problematic experience. How can that be made easier?

Exploring the inner world of the client and his unconscious social representations can be made tangible with the help of The Social Panorama model, developed in 1994 by Dr. Lucas Derks. It is all based on the realization that humans unconsciously create, from early childhood onwards, 3-d representations (personifications) of people all in relation to themselves in the center. In this landscape of unconscious social imagery peoples’ social lives are given shape, including the relation to themselves and concepts like authority, love or friendship. Spatial factors, like the exact location or size of personifications are crucial for the quality of these relationships.

Mapping unconscious social maps can help us analyze and diagnose unconscious patterns or even deep rooted social personal traits. With the help of the Social Panorama even the most complex problems like splitted self, bi-locations, possession, deep limiting social beliefs, grief and many more can be analysed and also brought to a resolution.

Studying the 3-D structure that governs our social lives is revealing much about the hidden world within yourself. Lumi will use a case study to bring this to life.

Lumi Raz is an Nlp and Social Panorama trainer from Israel, master trainer in Mindfulness, organizer of Applications in Mental Space Online International Conference April 29-30, 2021, organizer of NLP Online International Conference, June 1-2, 2021, developer of LOOMS online 3-D therapy software, founder of Mental Space Mindfulness, founder of Raz Institute, ambassador for Society for Mental Space Psychology in Israel, ambassador of In-Me in Israel.

Dr. Lucas Derks

How NLP helped  psychology to a new paradigm: Mental Space Psychology

In NLP and also in many places outside of NLP spatial interventions are a common thing. But there are not that many people recognizing these “spatial interventions,” because many professionals tend to see them as pretty obvious, and disregard the fact that all their “miracle effects” stem from space being the operating system of the mind: space is the medium of thought. All that is happening in the mind goes on somewhere in the mental space of the person, making in fact nearly all interventions “spatial”. In other words, the core of mental activity takes place in the space in and around the person and psychotherapy or coaching that is effective, must largely thank that to also have a spatial effect. It is the brain that produces all of that. The brain is a camera and a projector that nearly at the same time capture and recreate what is perceived at the same location where that happened. That is why neuroscience that limits its scope to what is happening inside the skull misses out the spatial projections that make up most of what we call thinking. When one state, that, all experience happens in the mental space of the person this brings us back to NLP. Since NLP has put subjective experience on it’s forefront. Thus logically, space was always included in what NLP-ers do (time-lines, identity grid, spatial anchoring, perceptual positions). Now in this lecture we will argue that space is the primary organizing principle in the mind. By focussing on this aspect, all manner of coaching and therapy becomes more effective. And it makes a model like the social panorama and mental spatial psychological diagnosis possible. In brief, the future of NLP-like work lies in space.

Lucas Derks Ph.D encountered NLP in 1977 during his academic schooling to become a social psychologist.
From 1986 he became a full-time NLP-trainer. He has been developing The Social Panorama Model from 1994 and Mental Space Psychology since 2010.

The search for the connection of NLP-like psychological practice and academic psychology has been the backbone of his career.
His training work brought him to all continents (apart from Antartica).

RETAC: Relationship Emotion Therapy and Coaching

In love and relationship our deepest feelings are touched. When these feelings are wonderful we want to be with the other and emerge in intimacy. We start dreaming of the future. A house, maybe children, getting old together. When relationships ‘get below the line’ our worst feelings are touched. Why is it so difficult to resolve relationship issues? Why is it so tough to apply NLP communications skill or ‘go’ second position when there are arguments? Why does it even seem that family constellation change work has at times so little effect in the actuality of the relationship? The answer? Unconscious emotions! From her latest research Lisa Barret Feldman concludes that our unconscious feelings have a much bigger impact on our everyday life and decision maken than we can imagine. Wassili has researched new neurological evidence that our conflicts in relationships arise in large from these unconscious emotions. In modeling these neurological findings Wassili explored methods of applying this knowledge into the NLP coaching and therapy domain. The results are very promising. You will get a new explanation for how emotions are made and will learn how deep the impact of unconscious feelings on our everyday life actually is. You will learn the basics of how to apply new neurological research in your everyday practice and relationship. It is my belief that the impact of relationship issues is very big on every aspect of our lives. Our relationship is a fundamental pillar of our lives. It is part of my personal mission to research new methods to offer means to bring about profound change in relationships issues. I have come to conclude that ‘so much relationship trouble is completely unnecessary. Join me in finding out why.
Wassili Zafiris (1964) is NLP master trainer, coach, researcher, author, public speaker. He has 25 years of experience in the fields of personal and organizational change. The COMPAS Model for Strategic Decision Making

The path to mastery is rarely easy. Whenever we face a great challenge, one of life’s most complex questions arises.

“Should I keep on trying or should I change my approach, should I apply consistency or flexibility?”

Learning the 6 six phases of the COMPAS Model in this Online workshop will allow you to:

  1. Better evaluate your progress and current patterns.
  2. Identify in which phase your project is currently operating.
  3. Foresee future challenges and apply simple strategies to avoid them.

Success Factor Modeling for Effective Healthcare
What’s the difference that makes the difference in cases of success in the healthcare ecosystem? This is the key question we asked ourselves when we developed the Success Factor Modeling for Healthcare study. Our purpose has been to create a greater awareness and provide new tools to improve and spread effective healthcare. This research was launched before the recent pandemic and has proved to be very timely indeed. The study involved a three-part online survey filled out by hundreds of participants. We started by defining what success means within the Healthcare System according to the various points of view of the different areas and roles within the healthcare ecosystem: doctors, nurses and other health professionals, patients and their families/caregivers, public and private healthcare providers, universities, research institutes, patient associations, etc. Then we explored the different levels of success factors of specific cases to which participants referred in responding. This was followed by in-depth personal interviews in some cases. This study has identified a number of key factors related outcomes, actions and mental attitudes that distinguish successful cases. We have mapped and organized these factors into a model supported by assessment tools and trainings to develop and strengthen these factors throughout the healthcare ecosystem. This presentation will summarize the study and present the SFM for Healthcare Model that we are currently implementing in European healthcare systems.

Robert Dilts has a global reputation as a developer, author, coach, trainer and consultant in the fields of Neuro-Linguistic Programing (NLP) and Success Factor Modeling (SFM) and is co-founder of NLP University in Santa Cruz, California. He is also co-founder (with Dr. Stephen Gilligan) of the International Association for Generative Change (IAGC).

Robert worked closely with NLP co-founders John Grinder and Richard Bandler at the time of its creation and also studied personally with Milton H. Erickson, M.D., and Gregory Bateson. Robert pioneered the applications of NLP to education, creativity, health, leadership, belief systems and the development of what has become known as “Third Generation NLP”.

Robert has authored more than twenty-five books on a variety of topics relating to personal and professional development including Changing Belief Systems with NLP, Tools of the Spirit, From Coach to Awakener, NLP II: The Next Generation, Sleight of Mouth and The Hero’s Journey: A Voyage of Self Discovery (with Dr. Stephen Gilligan).

Understanding today’s Learning Differences

Historically the term was learning difficulties and in the last 5 years their strengths and superpowers have been at last recognized, to change the title to learning differences or neurodiversity. The principles of NLP have enabled Empowering Learning to help people understand where these differences come from and how we can all help these children and adults excel.

Olive Hickmott is a Forensic Health and Learning Coach.  A reformed Dyslexic and ADHDer she created Empowering Learning to enable highly creative, imaginative, neurodivergent students to learn in the most effective way for them, that is typically through their strengths of mental imagery. She is the architect of the New Perspectives series of personal development books and author of The Elephants in the classroom, Bridges to Success, Seeing Spells Achieving, You too can ‘do’ Health, Recover your energy, How to Reduce the Impact of Dementia, Back from the Brink…twice

Using Symbols, Metaphors and Archetypes with Kids and Teens

One of the central goals working with kids and teens with NLP is to provide young clients with tools that in the present time allow them to overcome a specific challenge and that can be added to their own toolbox for future challenges. To embed and personalize these tools, the course method first leads young clients to create a metaphor for their own inner world and afterwards to experience inside transformative NLP tools adapted for children and teenagers.
All children and teenagers have their own preferences and tastes. Throughout the years, while putting this structure into practice, it became very clear to us that children and teenagers who ground themselves on subjects and metaphors in their imagination – which they generate based on their preferences and tastes – are more motivated throughout the change process and attain their goals faster.
In therapeutic terms, the generation of a metaphor based on the children’s or teenagers’ preferences leads them to give a shape and color to their own emotional world, generating a working environment that allows for the legitimation of different emotions, as well as to take an active role in their transformation as a basis for the desired change.
In this presentation we’ll offer the way how to lead children and teenagers to work with symbols, metaphors and archetypes combined with NLP tools.

A co-author of Neuro-Linguistic Programming Vol. I (1980), with Robert Dilts, John Grinder and Richard Bandler, Judith was involved in the creation of the fundamental NLP technique of Reframing. A student of Milton Erickson, Judith modeled his tracking strategy for creating and utilizing trance states and metaphors. This work is described in Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. Vol. II (1976), which she co-authored with John Grinder and Richard Bandler.
In the book Turtles All the Way Down: Prerequisites to Personal Genius (1987), which she co-authored with John Grinder, Judith explored the interrelationships between NLP and the threads of culture, community, art, aesthetics and epistemology. The result of this work was the creation of NLP New Coding, which stimulated a movement toward a more systemic and relational approach to NLP, and a resurgence of interest in the work of Gregory Bateson. In addition to the development of Perceptual Positions, which have become one of the fundamental distinctions of NLP, Judith’s contributions to NLP New Coding include Attention Training and the relationship between conscious and unconscious processes.

Transform Your Life With Precision
Your self-concept is a summary of the beliefs you have about yourself. These beliefs dictate how you feel about yourself, the behaviors you engage in, what you believe is possible for yourself and your life, how successful you will become, and how you feel about the world and people around you. You have a unique way of unconsciously organizing these beliefs into characteristics that define you. These characteristics are smaller, automatic assumptions you have about yourself which fall under the larger unconscious map of your personal identity. Steve Andreas’ Self-Concept Model is a model that will teach you how to make these unconscious processes conscious. When this happens you can have choice about your beliefs, which means you have choice over how you want to feel about yourself. You will have a choice about all of your behaviors even the ones that feel automatic like self-sabotaging behaviors. When you understand how you’re creating the beliefs that create your sense of self, not only do you become empowered to transform at will and with precision, you will truly fulfill your potential and create the fulfilling life that is available to you but has seemed out of reach.
Damon is a coach, speaker and the co-founder of The Self-Concept Research Group as well as the founder of Life Mastery Gym and the Life Mastery Gym Youtube channel. He is a leading expert in creating long-term, internal transformations using the Self-Concept model™. After spending years attending NLP trainings with some of the top NLP teachers in the world, he had a chance encounter with Steve Andreas that would forever alter his path especially in the field of NLP. From that point until Steve Andreas’ passing, he mentored Damon and endorsed him as the most knowledgeable teacher and practitioner of the Self-Concept Model. Damon is a master at helping teachers, therapists, coaches and high-performance trainers create lasting change for their students and clients at the identity level. He empowers the team at The Self-Concept Research Group and his clients to apply the framework that consistently provides life-altering results.

Sid Jacobson

Teaching Learning
Educators, scientists, politicians, futurists and many others have talked about the importance of children learning how to learn. But for decades no one ever did anything about it. Then, Sid Jacobson, Ph.D. finally wrote the book on how to do it: Teaching Learning: Helping Your Kids Gain the Learning Skills They Won’t Get Taught in School. Underlying all learning is a set of skills: Skills for taking in new information. Skills for processing the information in a way that makes it mean something. Skills for relating it to what we already know. Skills for storing it as part of our overall understanding. Teaching children is the process of getting them to use these skills to learn what we need them to learn. Each of these steps involves processes that NLP can address, improve and streamline. And, we can actually teach children how to do them! We understand how to improve how we actually learn anything and solve any learning difficulties that we might find. In fact, most learning problems are easily addressed once we understand the core elements of how learning works. All children can be taught the learning skills of the very best, once these elements are understood.
Sid Jacobson, Ph.D. was one of the early Certified Trainers by the Society of NLP. He has worked as a researcher, trainer, and consultant to professionals, hospitals, schools, clinics, businesses, and professional athletes, all over the world, for over 40 years. Sid also does corporate and organizational consulting and training.Clients have included Singapore Airlines, Western Digital, Shell, Applied Materials, Maersk Sealand, Intel, SAP, Case New Holland and many more. Sid is the author of five books and the co-author of another, as well as many papers & articles on NLP. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology as well as an MSW and is considered to be an expert in the application of NLP to education and training, psychotherapy and communication skills and organizational change management.

Jacqueline Heemskerk

Mental Space Psychology-Food and Overweight Panorama (MSP-F.O.P.)
Mental Space Psychology-Food and Overweight Panorama (MSP-F.O.P.) The method MSP-F.O.P. is developed by Jacqueline Heemskerk-Scholten in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Lucas A.C. Derks and is based on Mental Space Psychology combined with NLP. By letting people experience their foods in the mental space, we can quickly make a diagnosis. In general, you can say that food that is experienced close to the mental space is eaten faster. People with a healthy diet, experience foods at a greater distance. Old bad eating patterns can easily be changed in the mental space to healthier eating patterns. People with binge eating will experience food very close and can hardly move it. NLP techniques can be used to solve underlying causes. After that, the food is easy to move. Obesity can also be observed in the mental space, both associated and dissociated. By letting clients experience this consciously and confronting it with the fact that they cannot remove it from their mental space, they are more open to discover what is the cause of their obesity. The next step is to make this problem visible. Doing this in the mental space immediately shows what the problem is. Once the problem has been solved, you can let go of the excess weight, both in the mental space and in real life. In this workshop I will briefly explain this method and we will do an exercise to experience how you can change the location of food in your mental space.
Jacqueline Heemskerk-Scholten (1960) has a practice for coaching and psychotherapy in Katwijk, the Netherlands since 1994 and is NLP Master Practitioner, certified Social Panorama Consultant, certified Hypnotherapist, certified by the Bert Hellinger institute for family constellations and has the diploma primary medical knowledge. She attended many workshops by national and international trainers and therapists. Jacqueline is on the board of the Society for Mental Space Psychology as research committee member and responsible for social media. Organizer and assistant of the MSP trainings by Lucas Derks in the Netherlands. She is associated with the International Laboratory for Mental Space Research, Berlin (Ger), Nijmegen (NL), Linz (Aus) as a psychotherapy researcher. Jacqueline has participated as a therapist in a Dutch clinical study on the treatment of a mild depression with NLP and was also a research assistant. Her investigation into binge eating and overweight followed this experience. She developed Mental Space Psychology Food and Overweight Panorama and regularly gives MSP-Binge Eating and Overweight training for therapists and developed the online training, Unconsciously eating healthy and losing weight, change your unconscious eating pattern in 3 lessons with video guidance.

Does Wholeness Work Make “Enlightenment” Accessible?

“Spiritual NLP” has become something of a buzzword. Yet typically, methods intended for spiritual transformation are built on the same models / assumptions that apply to the behavioral level.

Through her own journey of healing and awakening, Connirae Andreas has discovered a new model of Spiritual NLP that makes a deeper level of transformation possible.

In developing the Wholeness Work, Connirae brings NLP-precision to the intention of “dissolving the ego,” which has long been acknowledged as a key to spiritual awakening or enlightenment.

Those who regularly practice the Wholeness Work typically report their experience of transformation becoming easier, deeper, and feeling more “natural,” compared to other NLP methods. Our experience indicates to us that the results of Wholeness Work simply aren’t possible using classical NLP models alone.

Benefits include:

  • A deep relaxation and resetting of the nervous system
  • A natural melting away of many issues that previously seemed like intractable problems
  • Increased sense of well-being, a natural wisdom, compassion, humor, and creativity

While remarkably effective in transforming specific “problems,” such as insomnia, relationship issues, and difficult emotions, the greatest benefits come from using the full system of Wholeness Work as a life path of transformation – or “awakening.”

Tamara Andreas is co-author of the book, Core Transformation: Reaching the Wellspring Within. As an international trainer, she has helped thousands of seminar participants in more than 12 countries benefit from life-changing methods, including Wholeness Work and Core Transformation. She has also developed advanced Core Transformation formats, to meet the needs of a wider range of clients. Her own client-work includes deep levels of transformation, making change easier and more complete. Her latest project is producing an intensive training for Coach Certification, together with Mark Andreas.

Robert Steinhouse

Mindful Business Leadership
This presentation provides a sophisticated and practical framework for leadership. It is based on Robbie Steinhouse’s Leadership Matrix Model, based on archetypes from his book Mindful Business Leadership. Different situations call upon different energies; for instance, responding to grieving team member requires an entirely different energy to dealing with a sharkish supplier: what specifically are these different energies and how can a leader develop their weaker traits to become ‘good enough’ to survive the range of challenging contexts they must face.
Robert Steinhouse founded NLP School in 2002 and is on the faculty of NLPU. He has taught all levels of NLP Internationally for NLPU and published 5 books including How to Coach with NLP.

Dr Bruce Grimley

7C’s
7C’s is a model for both coaching and psychotherapy that has been developed by Dr Bruce Grimley and is based on 25 years experience of practicing as a professional psychologist using NLP as an operating paradigm. The main themes of the model is that in both coaching and psychotherapy the key considerations for focus are both the context within which a person wishes to operate in an excellent way and the fundamental relationship the person has with themselves within that context. A key presupposition of 7C’s is that when we change contexts often our relationship with ourselves will change too and this can be for better or for worse. Thus when people come to us for help there is not a unified person who is seeking assistance, but a very particular part of that person who seeks to operate in a very specific context. 7C’s borrows heavily from the research into the clinical condition of Dissociative Identity Disorder and the psychology of excellence as well as the psychology of task switching. For the 7C’s way of working then Self is always a multiplicity and not a unity and a focus on parts work and how such parts are anchored within certain key contexts is the source of investigation and then development.
Dr Bruce Grimley obtained his undergraduate degree in psychology from the Open University in 1993. He went on to obtain his M.Sc in occupational psychology at The University of East London where he also lectured as an associate lecturer. At the University of Central Nicaragua Bruce’s Ph.D research asked the question “what is NLP?” and his findings were published in The International Coaching Psychology Review and have been published in book form in 2020 (The 7C’s of Coaching, Routledge). Bruce has been married for 36 years, has 2 children and 4 grandchildren and currently models masters athletics, being ranked himself by UK athletics at number 1 at 20 miles and number 2 at the marathon.

3-D Mapping Approach for Corporate Education

Corporate Education often calls for a diagnosis to get to effective designs for learning tracks for developing competencies. An NLP approach allows translating “diagnosis” to “mapping”, where we can elicit the organization’s map of itself and evaluate if the map there is currently operating serves its purposes well.

Founder and CEO of the Arline Davis Institute, Biologist graduated at University of California, Davis. Arline has been an NLP Trainer for 28 years, certifying Practitioners, Master Practitioners and Trainers in NLP. She has been involved in corporate projects, with special emphasis on designing highly customized educational programs with innovative modeling strategies to discover her corporate clients most important needs. Over the years, she has developed the Evolutionary Coaching Cycle and now is strongly focused on her trainings in Mindfulness with support from NLP and Coaching

How NLP intensifies Mindfulness qualification trainings

Please enjoy with me NLP intensified exercises from the classic area of Mindfulness. Exercises that connect you with the spirit of your true inner being.
The founders of NLP intensified the work of Bateson, Perls, Satir, and Erickson by creating easy-to-follow exercises. In this tradition, I have intensified Mindfulness qualification trainings with success elements from NLP like: SMARTe goals, body language, NLP Meta-Model, New Behavior Generator, NLP Human Development Stages, and the NLP Hero’s Journey.
For these Mindfulness qualification trainings, we founded the association: “Institutes for Mindfulness Evolving” (In-Me): https://in-me.world

Axes of change

If you are a change agent, then having a clear understanding of what change is and how it works is essential.  The Axes of Change is a model for generative change based on four meta-programs.  With each meta-program you will be able to manage one of the four mechanisms of change— motivation, decision, creation, and integration.  This model will enable you to know where you are with a client or group and what to do next in facilitating change.

The focus is primarily on generative change even though it can be used for therapeutic change. It is for clients who want to unleash potentials and achieve new possibilities. The model allows you to diagnose where a person or group is and how to work the two loops of change, the preparing for change which gets a person ready and implementing the change.  The first loop eliminates the problem of resistance and the second loop the problem of relapse.  Overall, The Axes of Change enable you to learn to think and work with change systemically.  Based on the book, Coaching Change (2004/ 2015)

Core Transformation: A Spiritual Process for Deep Healing

Core Transformation takes us on a healing inner journey where our limitations become the doorway to powerful states of being such as “peace” “love” or “oneness.” In these core states of being, our limitations transform and melt away, and even deeply-entrenched problems often unravel and dissolve. I’ve used this process more than any other in my private practice, both because of the depth of change it brings, and because of how easily it can be applied to transform any feeling, behavior, or thought a client doesn’t like! It also makes for a profound spiritual daily or weekly self-practice. I will introduce the basic format of Core Transformation, lead a group experience of the first part of the process, do a demonstration with a volunteer from the group, answer any questions, and provide a thorough script for guiding yourself or others through this profound experience.

Mark Andreas lives in Boulder CO, where he runs a private practice offering NLP Change Coaching to individuals around the world. Meeting both in-person and over video conference, Mark helps people resolve limitations and achieve life-goals using NLP, Core Transformation, the Wholeness Work, Metaphors of Movement, and other methods for personal transformation and development (www.markandreas.com). Mark also trains NLP internationally, including the Advanced Core Transformation course, and the Core Transformation Coach Certification course, both of which he co-designed with his aunt Tamara Andreas in 2020 (www.AndreasNLP.com). Mark is author of the books “Sweet Fruit from the Bitter Tree: 61 stories of creative and compassionate ways out of conflict,” and “Waltzing with Wolverines: finding connection and cooperation with troubled teens.”
